The CITB / Site Safety Plus TWCTC (Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course) is a well-structured course that looks at both the legal and ‘good practice’ solutions for managing all types of Temporary Works on construction sites. Not only a useful course, but it will also teach you how to engage with contractors to become competent in managing Temporary Works with everyone on site.

Communication, Cooperation, Coordination and Competence (4 C's) of those managing Temporary Works on a construction site.
An understanding of the role of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
An understanding of the role of others involved in Temporary Works.
Understanding BS 5975:2019, The code of practice for Temporary Works procedures. The use of practical guidelines on design, specification, construction and the use and dismantling of falsework.
An understanding of the statutory requirements/aspects of Temporary Works
Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Effective management of the Temporary Works process.
Classroom Requirements

Clear video and audio quality, to clearly see and hear the course content from your trainer.
Must be able to have two-way communication, to ensure that courses remain interactive for you to ask questions.
Must have a webcam, to provide evidence of identity and always be visible throughout the duration.

Further Development
CITB / Site Safety Plus TWCTC (Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course) has to be renewed every five years by attending another course before the expiry date. Further qualifications include the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS). You may also consider progressing onto the Construction Site Management NVQ Level 6 which will help you attain the CSCS black card.
