More businesses are opening as the weeks continue, The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) wants to ensure that the correct COVID measures are in place before opening.
Employers are being put on the spot by HSE inspectors who are assessing their premises whether they are complying with health and safety laws.
This is highlighting that businesses should be COVID-secure and using the current guidance and measures to control the risk of the coronavirus to protect workers and others.
Here are Five Practical Steps from the HSE that businesses should be following:
Step 1. carry out a COVID-19 risk assessment in line with HSE guidance.
Step 2. develop increased cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures.
Step 3. take all reasonable steps to help people work from home.
Step 4. maintain 2m social distancing where possible.
Step 5. where people cannot be 2m apart, manage transmission risk.
If you need support as a company to ensure you are meeting the needs of the law, we can provide you with the guidance to make you feel at ease with our consultancy services.
