First Aid for Mental Health Awareness Level 3 - 2 Day
You will learn a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications but is aimed at Trainer/Assessors and/or supervisor level within the workplace.
Who Should Attend
The course is for everyone aged 16 and upwards and you do not need any qualifications or experience in mental health to take part.
Due to some of the sensitive subjects of the courses, we limit numbers to 16 people. We want everyone to feel safe and our instructors can help if people find some parts particularly difficult.
Course Content (covered by NUCO)
Mental health and depression
Depression (cont.) and suicidal crisis
Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders and self-harm
Psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder
In each section you will learn how to:
Spot the early signs of mental health issue
Provide help on a first aid basis
Help prevent someone from hurting themselves or others
Help stop a mental health issue from getting worse
Help someone recover faster
Guide someone towards the right support
Reduce the stigma of mental health issues
Certification A Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
